Leuca Creek 100% pure and natural Waterlily Flower Tea. Grown (pesticide free!), hand-picked, dried and packed at our family farm in the beautiful Margaret River region in Western Australia.
Waterlily flowers contain two bioactive compounds Nuciferine and Aporphine, which may assist with sleep and may reduce stress and anxiety by calming mental activity.
Waterlily tea, also known as “Blue Lotus”, may also ease painful joints. This tea will not make you drowsy. The Ancient Egyptians used waterlily flower tea for ceremonies. It is like mindfulness in a cup!
Place one large, dried flower in a 1-litre tea pot, or alternatively 24 dried petals and a stamen crown. Fill tea pot with boiling water. Remove the flower/petals after 15 minutes. Set your alarm to keep the time.
For one cup (250 ml) use 6 petals and some stamen sprinkles in an infuser. Steep for 15 mins. Drink one cup in the evening and store the rest in the fridge. Other herbal teas mix well with waterlily tea e.g. peppermint. Add honey to taste, for a delicious relaxing drink before bedtime.
Interesting Fact: The Blue Lotus was misnamed by early colonial explorers, who were not botanists. Blue Lotus is a waterlily (Nymphaea caerulea)! Lotuses (genus Nelumbo) are never blue.
Waterlily petals also make beautiful and 100% natural confetti for wedding and other special events, or what about luxuriating in a warm bath sprinkled with waterlily petals? Bliss!
